The Nervous System

Notes:

1. Neuron: a nerve cell

Three types of neurons:

1) Sensory Neurons collect information about your external and internal environment is GATHERED by sensory neurons. (279)

2) Interneurons are located only in the brain and spinal cord, interneurons pass impulses from one neuron to another (279)

3) Motor Neurons send impulses to muscles and glands to cause a reaction.

The Central Nervous Sysems:

1. The CNS includes the brain and spinal cord

-Cerebrum: Specializations include movement. speech and abstract thought and it takes up 85% of the brain.
